IN Travel Agency - Wilmington, NC

We are happy to bring this missive in an effort to update you with recent developments in the IN Travel world and/or the travel industry in general. To you new comers, IN Travel has been pleased to serve your travel needs since 1986. Thanks to you!

As you may already know, I am quite fond of the Las Vegas area. I try to visit at least twice a year. I think it is necessary to visit often to keep up with the changes that are forever happening. They are currently building condominiums all up and down the strip and surrounding areas. Most of these seem to carry a starting price of $600,000. There is also a new theme park (The City) being built between the Bellagio and the Monte Carlo. This is planned to include condos, hotels, shopping, casinos, restaurants, etc. It is well along on construction at this time.

Did you know that Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas has approximately 1,900,000 square feet? Also, Planet Hollywood (Aladdin) has been renovated and is adding two time share towers.

We welcome the new film productions coming to the area and offer our services to make your stay more comfortable.

Small ship cruises will now have opportunities aboard two Celebrity Cruise Line ships which carry approximately 700 guests. The current itineraries include a 7 night Bermuda cruise June thru October 2007, 12 to 18 night South America/Antarctica November 2007 thru March 2008, 12 and 14 night Caribbean and Panama Canal October 2007 thru March 2008.

REMINDER: Check your passport expiration date! Many places require valid dates thru 6 months after travel completion. Also, passport offices are currently working on a backlog of 500,000 applications older than 12 weeks. A good website for more passport info is WWW.TRAVEL.STATE.GOV. UNCW is now processing passports. Instead of downtown go to UNCW for application processing and picture taking. Call Sandy Ellington at 910-962-2008.

Have you always wanted to do an African Safari but do not want to go alone? We have had some interest in escorting a group on this exotic tour. Should you be interested, please call Ida: 1-910-799-8825 or 1-800-458-7285, email: INTRAVEL15@ HOTMAIL.COM.

How about a European river cruise in 2008? Let us know if you would be interested in an escorted tour, Prague to Berlin 12 days. Includes 8 day cruise, 2 nights in Prague and 2 nights in Berlin, private motor coach excursions, port lectures, wine tasting, porcelain demonstration, castle tour, Martin Luther tour, etc. Depart 6/6/08

Please congratulate Lora Lee Newton Phelan on recently winning a trip to Melbourne Australia. She is currently planning an October 2007 trip. A well deserved award for outstanding performance, but I am prejudiced- she is our daughter.

China report by Ida:
The group started our tour in Shanghai. We stayed at the beautiful 5 star St. Regis Hotel. Cruised 4 nights on the Yangtze River aboard the brand new Victoria Anna. Flew to Xi'an to view the sites of the Terra Cotta soldiers on to Beijing and returned home from a stay in Hong Kong. I had visited China twelve years ago and found many things had changed. Most noticeable the cities are much more western, fewer bicycles, and many, many more automobiles and people; even with population control. Construction everywhere, high rise condos/offices/and at least 3 floors of shopping in each building. The people are friendly and a majority speak some English.

Although China in general and Beijing in particular have changed dramatically since my previous visit, there is much that is the same outside the confines of the cities. We had the opportunity to ride in a rickshaw through the hutongs or alleys of Beijing. The buildings and way of life of the inhabitants are relatively unchanged. It was interesting to see the activities in Beijing in preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Walking on the Great Wall is a must when visiting China.

I could go on and on about our trip however should China be of interest to you call me or stop by the office to see pictures and hear more.
